Sloth Bod - Decaf
*"You'll find this Decaf will usually be marked out of stock. We roast very small batches, and mostly only when we have enough orders, so everyone gets fresh decaf. To be put on the list, message or email us using the icons at the bottom of the site. Thank you :)"
Decaf Mujeres Berruecos "Sloth Bod" – Colombia
Decaf that doesn’t taste like decaf.
Mujeres Berruecos comes from the highlands of Nariño, Colombia (1,800–2,100 MASL), where a collective of women producers cultivate and process their coffee with extraordinary care. Each farmer follows a meticulous two-step fermentation process — 70 hours in-cherry, then 60–70 hours in closed tanks — before the beans are slowly dried for up to 18 days. The result is a cup that’s full of depth and sweetness, even before decaffeination.
Using the EA (Ethyl Acetate) decaf process, naturally derived from Colombian sugarcane and fruits, the caffeine is gently removed while preserving the coffee’s rich, complex character. Expect notes of dried orange, toffee, and apricot jam, with a velvety, dessert-like finish.
Beyond the cup, this project invests directly in women-led farms, providing technical support, tools, and resources to strengthen local communities and elevate quality year after year.
Colombia is home to many sloths and beautiful beaches, so our inspiration for this cover is just a sloth living his best life, sipping on beans grown and decaffinated in his home country.
Sloth it up!
